Committed to excellence and presenting the best to patrons, the Arts and Culture Centres offer a wide variety of programming from the best that Newfoundland has to offer to diverse artists from across Canada and abroad. The St. John's Arts and Culture Centre was opened on May 22, 1967, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! The Centre houses a 990 seat proscenium Main Theatre, a 75 seat black box Basement Theatre, childrens, adult and reference libraries and various rehearsal spaces.
Activities: One-hour walking tour of the Arts and Culture Centre focusing on Art and Architecture. Tours are offered by Assembly, a non-profit aimed at fostering and promoting design culture.
